What Nanospark Does
Nanospark enables your machine to communicate with you in formats that are familiar to you, wherever you are.
Your CNC machine already gives information to the local operator, Nanospark relays that information to you by e-mail or text message. Nanospark also makes it simple for you to configure the events that you want the CNC machine to tell you about.
For instance, you may want to know if the machine has experienced an error. Nanospark can “see” the machine turn the red light on and send you a notification that the machine needs your attention. By monitoring the green light (or in-cycle) over the course of a shift, day, or week, it can send you a report about your CNC machine’s efficiency.
We’ve made Nanospark: CNC Machine Monitor simple to install and compatible with a wide variety of CNC machines- even older machines which prior to this have had no connectivity.
How It Works
Nanospark: CNC Machine Monitor has two parts: the hardware and the app.
1. The hardware has 8 discrete inputs which wire in parallel with the CNC machine control system. When the machine signals the operator (such as by lighting a report light), the Nanospark device also gets that signal and conveys it to the app.
This simple setup lets you apply a single monitoring solution to all your machines regardless of brand or age. Further, a single Nanospark could be used to monitor more than one machine.
2. The app, which runs on an attached tablet, monitors the inputs connected to your machine components. If an input is in a state you’ve configured it to watch for, the app sends out a text message or email to the appropriate individual(s).
Nanospark also records the state of the inputs over time, so you can request periodic efficiency reports about the machine. Reports may be sent by job, by shift (or mid-shift), daily, weekly or monthly.
The familiar and intuitive interface of an app, makes configuring and editing events to monitor or record simple. The has other helpful features, such as allowing you to name the inputs, manage contacts, and a help section with links to our website.

Nanospark: CNC Machine Monitor inputs may receive either 12V or 24V signals, this makes it compatible with most of the CNC machines in use today. If your machine uses a different signal, please contact us and we’ll help you out.
The monitoring system itself runs off of 120 or 240VAC.
